Sleep Number is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst to join our Benefits team. This role is instrumental in partnering with our Senior Benefits Manager and Human Resources team to impact innovative health and wellness solutions for the enterprise. We are looking for an innovative professional who enjoys bringing new solutions to the table, while enhancing our team members' benefits experience. The Senior Benefits Analyst also builds and maintains critical partnerships both within the organization and with our external vendors.
Evaluate innovative health and wellness solutions/trends to recommend changes that will continue to enhance team members' experience.
Administer, process, analyze and manage select health and wellness programs while ensuring compliance with governing plan documents and benefit legislation.
Develop and implement wellness related activities driving towards healthier outcomes.
Act as a subject matter expert on all aspects of Sleep Number's benefits programs.
Resolve escalated issues and coordinate with benefit vendors to resolve problem cases.
Assist in the analysis, research, development and implementation of team member benefits programs to align with business objectives and total rewards strategy.
Maintain applicable plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other plan operational documentation and information.
Provide plan interpretations, training and guidance to HR Operations and other key stakeholders to ensure team members are provided accurate responses to inquiries.
Provide team member training and education on benefit programs and annual changes to benefits.
Review and coordinate team member communications such as annual enrollment materials, benefit newsletters and publications.
Manage benefits open enrollment.
Collect and analyze statistical data, prepare HRIS reports, and complete surveys using various tools.
Conduct or contribute to special projects as requested or needed.
Position Requirements Experience, Education & Certifications
5+ years progressive HR experience with experience in benefits, benefit program management, and vendor relations
B.A. or B.S. degree in business or human resources required or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative
Demonstrated strong financial and data analysis skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to maintain knowledge of current benefit related governmental regulations
Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet competing deadlines, handle multiple priorities and work independently
Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and influencing skills
Vendor management & negotiation skills
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Project management experience
Able to develop strong working relationships with customers and colleagues, and foster trust in handling confidential situations
Strong analytical skills and supportive systems leverage (particularly Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint)
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving ability, particularly in ambiguous or complex situations. Understands and considers broad implications of business unit needs or decisions
