WHAT IS EHIR?
EHIR (Employer Health Innovation Roundtable) is an independent, third-party marketplace that connects innovative, growth stage companies with employers, health plans and providers. We do this primarily by hosting in-person Roundtables twice per year.
WHAT’S WITH ALL THE ACRONYMS?
Amongst EHIR lingo, our various acronyms tend to be the most confusing. We hope this helps:
We work with three delegations and follow a (mostly) similar model across all three: Employers, Health Plans and Providers. Although all three sit under the “EHIR” umbrella, we keep Membership, submission and Roundtable meetings separated by delegation.
EHIR = Employer Health Innovation Roundtable
HPIR = Health Plan Innovation Roundtable
PHIR = Provider Health Innovation Roundtable
WHAT’S A MEMBER?
EHIR is a Membership revenue model. When we say Member, we are referring to our 100+ Employer, Health Plan and Provider Members who represent millions of lives around the world.
We are action-oriented and proudly call ourselves the “Pirates”. Members that join EHIR are champions of innovation who are committed to fulfilling the EHIR mission: “accelerating the adoption of innovation to improve employee health, wellness & productivity”.
In addition to financial #skininthegame, our Members commit to a series of actions throughout the year. One of our favorites is their commitment to pilot at least one EHIR solution annually!
I’M AN ENTREPRENEUR WITH AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION. HOW DO I JOIN EHIR?
We get this question a lot - and we love that we do! As a new Innovator to EHIR, the first step is to login to EHIR.io to create a Product Profile. This is the living representation of your solution and is live to all of our EHIR Members.
The next step is to apply to a Roundtable. Our Roundtables are held Spring & Fall. Make sure to follow us on LinkedIn to stay updated with key dates & deadlines.
I REACHED OUT TO AN EMPLOYER, HEALTH PLAN OR PROVIDER AND THEY TOLD ME TO WORK THROUGH EHIR. NOW WHAT?
Although we don’t ask Members to work exclusively through us, many of our Members do choose to rely on Roundtables and our EHIR.io database as their primary source for innovation.
If you get this response, please note that a Member is likely politely asking you to halt email communication and instead submit your profile to the next Roundtable for consideration.
The good news for you is that we don’t work with preferred partners and aren’t incentivized to make recommendations. Our goal is not to be the gatekeeper, but instead help your team reach a group of interested and engaged Members interested in what you have to offer.
We’re happy to follow up with the Member on your behalf to let them know that your profile has been created and / or you’ve submitted to a Roundtable.
HOW CAN I GET MY SOLUTION IN FRONT OF EHIR MEMBERS?
Create a profile in EHIR.io (and keep it updated)
Submit to an EHIR, HPIR or PHIR Roundtable in the Spring or Fall for consideration to present
WHAT IS A ROUNDTABLE?
Now that we’ve mentioned the Roundtable (a few times), you’re likely seeing that it’s an integral part of the EHIR model.
A Roundtable is a two-day meeting held in person at one of our Member locations. The goal of the Roundtable is to expedite the adoption of innovation by connecting voted-in solutions with our Members.
Ever seen the show Shark Tank? It’s kind of like that. Innovators present and Members have the opportunity to “match” with any Innovators of interest.
Following presentations, we’ll send a warm introduction to the matched Innovator and Member team.
HOW DO I APPLY TO A ROUNDTABLE?
Step 1: Create an EHIR.io profile - make sure to tailor your submission to the specific delegation(s) you’re applying for.
Step 2: Submit! We’ll post key deadlines on our EHIR website and LinkedIn pages.
There is no cost to submit. Teams are welcome to apply to any or all delegations that apply (Employers, Health Plans and Providers).
HOW ARE SOLUTIONS SELECTED FOR ROUNDTABLES?
Everything we do at EHIR is driven by our Members. EHIR is an objective, third-party; we don’t work with any preferred partners and were not incentivized to make recommendations.
Innovators selected for the Roundtable applying via EHIR.io and are ultimately voted in by our Members to present.
HOW MUCH DOES EHIR COST?
ARE THERE WAYS OUTSIDE OF ROUNDTABLES TO INTERACT WITH EHIR MEMBERS?
The primary way that Innovators interact with EHIR Members is by presenting at a Roundtable.
That being said, as self-proclaimed champions of innovation, we are always dreaming up new
ways to help get the best solutions to market. Follow us on LinkedIn for updates on new and evolving programs.
I SUBMITTED TO PRESENT, BUT I DIDN’T GET SELECTED. CAN I SUBMIT AGAIN?
Yes! In fact, many solutions submit 3-4x before getting selected to a Roundtable. This happens for a variety of reasons - Ex: changing Member priorities, improved submission or increased traction with relevant clients.
We do our best to give Innovators as much feedback as possible through the process, however it’s not always possible based on the volume of submissions. For additional support, we’ve created a specific set of Advisory Services to prepare and debrief your team on the curation process.
ONCE I PRESENT, CAN I PRESENT AGAIN?
Our Members are organized into Cohorts. Once your team is voted into a specific Cohort to present, you will not be eligible to get voted in to that Cohort again.
This means that your team can reapply next cycle, but will only be eligible to get voted into
Beyond presentations, we offer a limited number of Sponsorships and Recap opportunities for high traction solutions to get back in front of a specific Cohort.
